RV College of Engineering Bengaluru Wins TCS TechBytes 2026
More than 8,000 engineering students from 115 colleges across Karnataka participated in the state-level technology quiz
RV College of Engineering emerged as the winner at the grand finale held on May 5, while AGMR College of Engineering & Technology secured the runner-up position.

Bengaluru: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced the winners of the 17th edition of TCS TechBytes 2026, a Karnataka state-level IT quiz competition organised jointly with Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), aimed at testing engineering students on emerging technologies and digital trends.
RV College of Engineering emerged as the winner at the grand finale held on May 5, while AGMR College of Engineering & Technology secured the runner-up position.
TCS awarded education scholarships worth ₹85,000 to the winning team and ₹50,000 to the runner-up team. Finalists received scholarships worth ₹10,000 each.
The awards were presented by S. Sadagopan, chairman of BITES, along with Gopalkrishna Hegde of Indian Institute of Science and Sunil Deshpande, regional head of TCS Bengaluru. The event was also attended by Selvan D., co-chairman of BITES, N. Nagamani Nagaraja, chief of strategy and systems at National Education Foundation, and H.P. Balakrishna, principal of Global Academy of Technology.
According to TCS, more than 8,000 students from over 115 engineering colleges across Karnataka participated in the programme. Regional finals were conducted across Hubballi, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Tumakuru and Kalaburagi.
Chairman of Board for IT Education Standards (BITES) S. Sadagopan said the initiative helps build a culture of excellence and healthy competition among students while strengthening technical knowledge and teamwork capabilities.
Sunil Deshpande, regional head, TCS Bengaluru, said TCS TechBytes reflects the company’s commitment to upskilling young engineers by exposing them to global technology trends, including artificial intelligence, while encouraging adaptability, collaboration and curiosity among future technology professionals.
Tata Consultancy Services, part of the Tata Group, reported consolidated revenues of more than $30 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
