Hyderabad: Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched its 5G services in Hyderabad, accelerating its next-generation network expansion in Telangana following recent rollouts in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam.

The telecom operator said Hyderabad has emerged as a priority market due to its status as a major IT and innovation hub, rapid urban growth, and increasing demand for high-speed digital connectivity from enterprises, startups and consumers.

As part of the rollout, Vi has undertaken network augmentation and deployed 5G infrastructure across key business districts, IT corridors and densely populated residential areas in the city.

According to the company, users in Hyderabad will experience faster mobile broadband speeds, lower latency and improved connectivity, particularly in high-traffic urban zones and commercial centres.

Commenting on the launch, Rahul Wahal, Business Head – Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Vodafone Idea, said Hyderabad is home to global technology companies, innovation hubs and a growing number of Global Capability Centers (GCCs), making it a strategically important market for next-generation connectivity.

“With a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem and high data consumption patterns, Hyderabad represents a key market for next-generation connectivity. We remain committed to expanding our 5G footprint in a phased manner, delivering enhanced network experiences to our users in line with their evolving needs,” he said.
