NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia reviewed final preparations for India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka on Monday, ahead of its scheduled inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 8.

During the visit, Scindia toured the exhibition area, interacted with startups and exhibitors, and chaired meetings with officials from the Department of Telecommunications, the Cellular Operators Association of India and partner agencies, according to a ministry release.

The 10th edition, themed “Scale Without Boundaries”, is expected to attract more than 1.5 lakh attendees, over 500 exhibitors and partners, more than 600 startups and over 900 thought leaders.

Scindia said the event would demonstrate India’s telecom capabilities and emerging products as the country seeks to expand its role from providing services to developing technology products.

The programme includes the third International 6G Symposium, CEO and CTO roundtables, and discussions on semiconductor supply chains, telecom manufacturing, satellite communications, 5G monetisation and quantum technologies.

Other initiatives include the Startup World Cup India 2026, a cybersecurity summit, an India–UK AI safety panel and an International Telecommunication Union build-a-thon focused on AI agents for 5G networks.

Organisers expect more than 2,000 technology use cases and over 120 sessions. The event will also bring together more than 300 investors, incubators, accelerators and venture capital firms, with over 700 investor meetings planned.

The ministry said India has 1.01 billion broadband subscribers and more than one billion internet subscribers. It added that 5G services cover 99.9% of districts and reach 85% of the population, while 98.7% of villages have 4G connectivity.

IMC 2026 will bring together government, industry, academia and startups for technology demonstrations, policy discussions and investment engagements.
