New Delhi, July 25: The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched the revamped Mission Vatsalya Portal, a secure, integrated digital platform aimed at streamlining child protection services across the country. The enhanced portal unifies and replaces earlier services like Khoya-Paya and TrackChild, providing a centralized and real-time system for all key stakeholders working in child welfare.

Announcing the launch in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on Friday, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, highlighted that the platform will enable more efficient, transparent, and coordinated child protection measures at both the state and district levels.

A Unified Digital Platform for Multiple Stakeholders

The revamped Mission Vatsalya Portal serves as a single-window digital workspace for diverse stakeholders in the child protection ecosystem, including:

  • State Child Protection Society (SCPS)
  • State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA)
  • District Child Protection Units (DCPUs)
  • Child Welfare Committees (CWCs)
  • Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs)
  • Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPUs)
  • Child Care Institutions (CCIs)

By bringing all these bodies onto one digital interface, the portal helps eliminate duplication of efforts, especially at the grassroots level, and ensures optimum use of resources for planning and implementation.

Real-time Monitoring and Case Tracking

A key feature of the portal is its integration with Management Information System (MIS) Dashboards that offer real-time insights into various aspects of child protection and care. The platform is also integrated with the national Child Helpline 1098, a 24x7x365 toll-free service for children in distress, which is now connected with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112) of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Women Helpline 181.

The portal allows stakeholders to access information related to child distress cases reported via the helpline, improving emergency response coordination.

Training and Rollout

To facilitate smooth implementation, the ministry, in collaboration with the Savitribai Phule National Institute of Women and Child Development (SPNIWCD), has conducted Master Trainer programs across all States and Union Territories. Each relevant agency, including registered NGOs, has been provided with login credentials to access and use the portal effectively.

The revamped Mission Vatsalya portal is expected to enhance transparency, accountability, and speed in managing child-related services, offering a digital backbone for India’s evolving child protection framework.
