New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India AI Impact Summit 2026 today, February 19, at Bharat Mandapam, with participation from more than 20 Heads of State and Government, around 60 Ministers and Vice Ministers, and over 500 global AI leaders.

On February 18 at 7 PM, the Prime Minister will welcome international leaders attending the Summit and hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines.

Theme: Welfare for All, Happiness for All

The Summit is anchored on the theme “सर्वजन हिताय, सर्वजन सुखाय” — welfare for all, happiness of all — positioning AI as a tool for inclusive growth, global cooperation and planetary sustainability.

Seven Working Groups structured around three pillars — People, Planet and Progress — will drive outcomes across themes including AI for Economic Growth and Social Good, Democratizing AI Resources, Inclusion for Social Empowerment, Safe and Trusted AI, Human Capital, Science, and Resilience, Innovation and Efficiency.

Leaders’ Plenary and CEO Roundtable

On February 19, the Prime Minister will participate in the Opening Ceremony at 9:40 AM, alongside the President of France and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, followed by a joint visit to the India AI Impact Expo and country pavilions at 11 AM.

He will then join the Leaders’ Plenary at noon, bringing together global leaders to discuss AI governance, infrastructure and international cooperation, and later take part in a CEO Roundtable at 5:30 PM to deliberate on investment, research collaboration, supply chains and AI deployment.

The Summit will also see participation from about 100 CEOs and founders, 150 academicians and researchers, 400 CTOs and vice presidents, and more than 100 government representatives.

Sundar Pichai Meets PM

Earlier in the day, Google CEO Sundar Pichai met the Prime Minister in Delhi on the sidelines of the Summit. In a post on X, Modi described the interaction as “a delight,” noting discussions on India’s AI initiatives and potential collaboration with Google to support students and professionals in the field.
