New Delhi, August 19: The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), under the Quality Council of India (QCI), has launched a new Medical Application Portal for ISO 15189:2022 applicant laboratories, aimed at enhancing ease, efficiency, and transparency in the accreditation process.

Unveiled during a virtual event titled “GOING LIVE”, the portal has been redesigned to reflect real-world medical lab operations. It offers a streamlined application process with standardized templates, a comprehensive pre-registration checklist, multi-user access rights, and an intuitive interface that reduces timelines and improves oversight.

QCI Chairperson Jaxay Shah said the digital transformation would allow tasks that earlier took weeks or months to be completed in just two to three hours, calling it a major disruption in India’s quality ecosystem. NABL Chairperson Dr Sandip Shah added that the initiative will simplify accreditation while strengthening accountability and ease of doing business for laboratories.

The portal is expected to benefit hundreds of medical laboratories nationwide by providing a transparent and efficient digital pathway for accreditation under ISO 15189:2022. The launch included a live demonstration and interactive Q&A with participants across the country.
