Bengaluru: Mercedes-Benz India on Friday inaugurated a new luxury sales and service facility in Bengaluru, strengthening its presence in Karnataka amid rising demand for high-end and ultra-luxury vehicles in the city.

The new facility, operated by dealer partner Viva Star, introduces Karnataka’s first dedicated Mercedes-Maybach Lounge, positioning Bengaluru as the first city in India to host both a Maybach Lounge and a Maybach Icons of Luxury store under one roof.

The development comes as India enters the top five global markets for the Mercedes-Maybach brand, underlining the growing appetite for ultra-luxury vehicles among Indian buyers.

New Facility and Investment

Located in south Bengaluru, the Viva Star facility spans a total covered area of more than 27,000 sq ft, combining a multi-level luxury showroom and a modern aftersales service centre. The project involved an investment of about ₹200 million and was completed within five months.

The sales facility covers 10,400 sq ft across four levels, offering six vehicle display positions and a dedicated delivery bay. The adjoining service centre spans 16,600 sq ft and is equipped with 19 working bays across maintenance, body and paint operations. The facility also includes fast-charging infrastructure, with a 60 kW charger at the showroom and a 180 kW charger at the service centre, supporting battery electric vehicles.

Maybach Lounge and Customer Experience

A key feature of the new dealership is the exclusive Maybach Lounge, designed as a shop-in-shop experience for top-end customers. The lounge includes the Maybach Retail Kit, which allows customers to explore bespoke ‘manufaktur’ customisation options through curated consultation spaces.

The showroom also integrates private and semi-private consultation areas, a customer lounge, boutique-style accessory displays and dedicated delivery zones aimed at enhancing the luxury ownership experience.

Market Context

Inaugurating the facility, Santosh Iyer, managing director and chief executive officer of Mercedes-Benz India, said Bengaluru remains a key market for the company, driven by demand from younger, aspirational customers and a growing base of high-net-worth individuals.

The company also announced the launch of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 SUV in Bengaluru, priced at ₹2.75 crore (ex-showroom). The model will be locally assembled in India, making it the first Mercedes-Maybach SUV produced outside the United States.

Expansion Plans

Mercedes-Benz said it plans to inaugurate 20 new luxury touchpoints across three new cities in 2026, including new dealerships and upgrades of existing facilities, as part of its strategy to deepen customer proximity and enhance retail experience.

India currently has more than 140 Mercedes-Benz luxury touchpoints across over 50 cities, supported by local manufacturing at the company’s Chakan facility near Pune.
