Mahindra Tractors Celebrates Women Employees at Zaheerabad Plant on International Women’s Day
The plant employs more than 350 women across various functions and is seen as a key example of the company’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment and create a supportive workplace environment in the manufacturing sector.
Zaheerabad: Mahindra Tractors, part of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, celebrated International Women’s Day by recognising its women employees at the company’s tractor manufacturing facility in Zaheerabad, Telangana.
The plant employs more than 350 women across various functions and is seen as a key example of the company’s efforts to promote women’s empowerment and create a supportive workplace environment in the manufacturing sector.
Mahindra & Mahindra has also introduced policies aimed at improving work-life balance, including a five-year “career reassuring and flexibility” programme designed to support women employees during their motherhood journey.
Established in 2012, the Zaheerabad facility is Asia’s largest tractor manufacturing plant under one roof with an installed production capacity of 1.3 lakh tractors per year. The plant manufactures tractors for both domestic and international markets and serves as a major export hub, supplying products to more than 50 countries including the United States, Brazil and several African markets.
The facility employs over 3,200 people and produces nine tractor platforms with more than 250 variants ranging from 21 to 95 horsepower. Mahindra said similar Women’s Day celebrations were also organised at its other manufacturing plants in Nagpur, Rudrapur and Jaipur.
