KFintech, APMI launch shared anti-money laundering platform for portfolio managers
InPro combines continuous investor screening, alert reviews and audit trails on a common platform, giving smaller portfolio management firms access to compliance technology without building their own.

MUMBAI: KFin Technologies and the Association of Portfolio Managers in India (APMI) on Thursday launched InPro, an anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance operations platform for India’s portfolio management services (PMS) industry.
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey unveiled the platform at APMI’s third annual conference at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. APMI has adopted InPro as the central AML compliance platform for its members, the organisations said.
The platform brings investor screening, ongoing monitoring, case management and audit trails into a single system. It enables portfolio managers to check investor profiles against global sanctions lists, Indian debarment lists, politically exposed person databases, regulatory watchlists and adverse media sources.
Screening can take place during onboarding and subsequently when customer information or relevant risk indicators change. The approach is intended to help firms identify risks that emerge after an investor’s initial checks.
Potential matches pass through a maker-checker workflow, allowing compliance teams to review alerts, resolve false positives, escalate cases and document their decisions. The platform retains records of screening activity and review actions for internal and regulatory scrutiny.
InPro also supports near-real-time decisions and integration with other systems to help firms take operational action after identifying potential risks.
The shared infrastructure model aims to reduce the need for portfolio managers, particularly smaller and boutique firms, to independently build and maintain screening technology. KFintech and APMI said it would also support greater consistency in reviewing, documenting and escalating alerts across member firms.
Sreekanth Nadella, managing director and CEO of KFintech, said changing investor profiles and risk signals make ongoing monitoring necessary beyond initial onboarding checks.
APMI Chairman Vikas Khemani said the initiative would make technology-enabled AML capabilities accessible to portfolio managers across different scales of operation, while supporting governance and investor trust.
