MUMBAI: Inner Sky Labs has unveiled a physical artificial intelligence platform for robots and other machines, combining models for perception and movement with a safety system designed to check actions before they are executed.

In a statement, the company said it was closing a ₹300 crore funding round involving existing backers YourNest Venture Capital and Keshav R. Murugesh, alongside new global investors.

The platform includes the Drishti series of vision models, Shruti audio models and Sparsh touch models. These are intended to help machines interpret their surroundings, recognise sounds and handle objects.

Its Kriya, Prana and Karma action models are designed to plan and execute movements, including reaching, gripping, walking and flying, while anticipating their potential consequences.

Kavach, the platform’s safety layer, checks proposed actions against operating rules and can block movements that violate them, according to the company. For a robotic arm, these checks could include whether people are nearby, whether its speed is appropriate and whether it remains within its permitted working area.

Inner Sky Labs said customers and authorities could define safety rules for their own operational and legal requirements.

The company is behind Miko, a children’s companion robot sold in more than 140 countries. It said the new platform builds on more than a decade of research and experience developing the consumer product.

Co-founder and chief executive Sneh Vaswani said the company was extending its work on trusted consumer robots to a broader range of machines, including industrial robots and drones.

The platform is available to qualified partners by invitation. Deployment options include cloud, on-premise and on-device systems, with support for offline and air-gapped environments. The perception models, action models and Kavach safety layer can also be accessed separately.

Inner Sky Labs said it had raised more than $80 million from investors including Chiratae Ventures, IvyCap Ventures, YourNest Venture Capital and 360 ONE. The Mumbai-headquartered company also has offices in the US and UK.
