Railways announces 3548 graduate-level non-technical vacancies; check eligibility, apply online

NEW DELHI: Indian Railways has announced 3,548 graduate-level vacancies across four Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC), with online applications open until November 6, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways on October 11, the Railway Recruitment Boards have notified the recruitment through Centralised Employment Notification No. 06/2026. Applications opened on October 8.
Goods Train Manager accounts for the largest share, with 2,750 vacancies. The recruitment also includes 371 Senior Clerk Cum Typist posts, 300 Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist posts and 127 Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor posts.
Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor carries an initial basic monthly pay of ₹35,400 at Pay Level 6 under the Seventh Central Pay Commission. The other three categories carry initial basic pay of ₹29,200 at Pay Level 5, with allowances governed by applicable rules.
Applicants must hold a degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification and meet the requirements for their chosen post. The notified age range is 18–33 years as on January 1, 2027, with relaxations for eligible categories.
Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on November 6. The examination fee payment deadline is November 8, while the application modification window will run from November 9 to 18.
Selection will comprise two stages of computer-based tests, followed by document verification and a medical examination, as applicable. Reservation, age relaxation, scribe assistance and compensatory time will be available to eligible candidates under the prescribed provisions.
The statement said the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test has been dispensed with for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist posts under this notification. Candidates must nevertheless possess basic computer and typing proficiency, which will be assessed after joining.
