Hyderabad: The combined foundation course for the second batch of 228 Group-I officers of the Telangana government commenced on Monday at the Dr MCR Human Resource Development Institute in Hyderabad.

Santhi Kumari, Vice-Chairperson and Director General of the institute, congratulated the newly selected officers and said their role would be crucial in shaping the future of the state. She emphasised that the success of Group-I officers would be measured by their commitment to serving people, particularly the marginalised sections of society.

She noted that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expects the new officers to contribute to the growth trajectory of Telangana while adopting a people-centric approach to governance with public service as the top priority.

Sikta Patnaik, special secretary (finance), who attended the programme as chief guest, urged the officers to move beyond “armchair administration” and actively engage with stakeholders in remote rural areas. She encouraged them to leverage emerging technologies to identify problems and develop innovative solutions to address challenges faced by rural communities.

During the inaugural session, the course manual was released and the officer trainees took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India. The proceedings were conducted by trainee officer K. Satyaveda, while H Arun Kumar, course director, delivered the vote of thanks.
