The pavilion features eight helpdesks staffed by experts from GST, Customs, GSTN, ICEGATE and CPGRAMS, offering onsite support on registration, refunds, return filing, grievance redressal and import–export procedures.
New Delhi, November 15: The Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, along with senior members of the Board, inaugurated the GST & Customs Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 at Pragati Maidan today.
This year’s theme, “Next-Gen GST: सरल कर, खुशहाल राष्ट्र”, reflects CBIC’s vision of a simplified, technology-driven and citizen-centric indirect tax ecosystem aligned with the IITF 2025 theme “एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत.” The pavilion showcases the government’s ongoing efforts toward easing compliance, rationalising tax rates, and enhancing ease of living for taxpayers and businesses.
Addressing visitors, the Chairman highlighted the transformational shift in GST and Customs administration through digitalisation, transparency, and policy reforms. He noted that the “Next-Gen GST” framework is built on Structural Reforms, Rate Rationalisation and Ease of Living, aimed at making essential goods more affordable and compliance processes simpler and quicker. He also urged visitors to remain vigilant and avoid sharing identity documents with unauthorised individuals to prevent fraud.
The Pavilion has been developed under the GST Bachat Utsav initiative to help citizens understand the savings and relief available under recent reforms. It serves as an interactive platform for taxpayers, industry representatives, students and the general public to engage with the latest initiatives of CBIC and learn about services designed to strengthen trade facilitation and taxpayer convenience.
The pavilion features eight helpdesks staffed by experts from GST, Customs, GSTN, ICEGATE and CPGRAMS, offering onsite support on registration, refunds, return filing, grievance redressal and import–export procedures. Visitors can access educational content in 12 languages, including 10 regional languages, through explanatory videos on GST and Customs processes.
Digital and interactive installations present policy milestones, achievements and ongoing digital transformation initiatives. To enhance public engagement, the Pavilion also hosts magic and puppet shows, live quizzes, caricature artists, virtual reality (VR) games, selfie corners, and distributes brochures on GST and Customs services.
A dedicated career orientation section introduces students and young visitors to opportunities in CBIC and the role of the department in nation-building, revenue mobilisation and trade facilitation.
Open for the entire duration of the Trade Fair, the pavilion provides an immersive experience into the evolving landscape of indirect taxation and CBIC’s efforts toward a digital, transparent and efficient tax administration. The initiative reinforces CBIC’s commitment to citizen empowerment, ease of compliance and national economic growth through continuous innovation in tax governance.
