AIIA Hosts Three CME Programmes Under Ayurgyan Scheme to Empower Ayurveda Teachers

The CMEs brought together over 60 eminent experts who delivered specialised lectures combining classical Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific tools.
New Delhi, September 14: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), in collaboration with the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), successfully organised three Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes from September 8–13 under the Ministry of Ayush’s Ayurgyan Scheme. The six-day programmes, held across the departments of Kriya Sharira, Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana, and Swasthavritta & Yoga, were aimed at capacity building, academic enrichment and professional development of Ayurveda teachers.
The CMEs brought together over 60 eminent experts who delivered specialised lectures combining classical Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific tools. Topics ranged from advanced Nadi assessment, bioinformatics and transcriptome analysis to Ayurvedic drug standardisation, regulatory frameworks, dietetics, sleep science, and yoga-based stress management.
In the Kriya Sharira programme, 30 teachers were trained by 12 experts on core Ayurvedic concepts such as Oja, Agni, and Prakriti, alongside modern approaches like cardiorespiratory system studies and multi-omics. The Rasa Shastra & Bhaishajya Kalpana CME saw 30 shortlisted participants engage with 14 experts on safety, efficacy, drug regulation, and molecular simulation, highlighting the integration of Ayurveda with global drug development standards.
The Swasthavritta & Yoga CME trained 30 teachers with inputs from more than 20 experts from premier institutes including AIIMS, NIFTEM, and MDNIY. Sessions focused on dietetics, lifestyle regimens (Dinacharya, Ritucharya), yoga practices, environmental health, and biomedical waste management, reinforcing the Ayurvedic principle of Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam — preserving health through preventive care.
AIIA said the programmes marked a significant step towards standardising, modernising, and globalising Ayurveda education and research. The initiative is part of the Ministry of Ayush’s vision to equip Ayurveda teachers with interdisciplinary knowledge, innovative pedagogy, and global relevance.
