New Delhi: Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah on Monday extended greetings to personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on the occasion of the force’s Raising Day, highlighting its growing role in India’s disaster management framework.
In a post on X, Shah said the NDRF has emerged as a key pillar in the country’s efforts to build a disaster-resilient India, noting that the force is increasingly relied upon during natural and man-made calamities.
He also paid tribute to NDRF personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging their sacrifice in ensuring the safety of others.
The NDRF, raised under the Disaster Management Act, has been deployed across the country for response and rescue operations during floods, cyclones, earthquakes, industrial accidents, and other emergencies, earning public trust through its rapid response and specialised capabilities.
