Bank of Baroda Extends ₹75 Lakh Personal Accident Insurance to Family of Agniveer Martyred in Kargil
The insurance amount was formally handed over to the soldier’s mother, Ajudhiya Kumari, during a solemn ceremony attended by serving and retired defence personnel and senior officials of Bank of Baroda.
Chandigarh, December 25: Bank of Baroda has extended financial support of ₹75 lakh to the family of Agniveer Naveen Kumar, who laid down his life while defending the nation during Operation Sindhoor in Kargil on May 20, 2025. The support was provided under the personal accident insurance cover of the bank’s Agniveer Account Scheme.
The insurance amount was formally handed over to the soldier’s mother, Ajudhiya Kumari, during a solemn ceremony attended by serving and retired defence personnel and senior officials of Bank of Baroda. Those present included Naib Subedar Santosh Kumar, retired brigadier Hardeep Singh, Bal Kishan, deputy general manager and regional head of the Shimla region, Junaid Khan, regional business development manager, and Supreet Singh from the bank’s zonal office in Chandigarh.
On the occasion, the dignitaries paid tribute to the courage and supreme sacrifice of Agniveer Naveen Kumar, expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family. Bank officials reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to standing by the families of armed forces personnel who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
Bank of Baroda said initiatives such as the Agniveer Account Scheme are aimed at providing meaningful financial protection and welfare support to defence personnel and their families, reinforcing the bank’s role in nation-building beyond core banking services.
