New facilities reinforce Tata group’s strategic role in strengthening India–UK digital and economic partnership

London/Mumbai, October 10: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced plans to create 5,000 new jobs across the United Kingdom over the next three years, along with the launch of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience Zone and Design Studio in London, reaffirming its long-term commitment to the UK’s digital economy.

The announcement came as part of the visit by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s business delegation to the TCS Banyan Park campus in Mumbai, accompanied by Minister for Investment Jason Stockwood, who launched an Oxford Economics report quantifying TCS’s contribution to the UK economy.

According to the report, TCS contributed £3.3 billion to the UK economy in FY2024, paid £780 million in taxes, and supported 42,700 jobs directly and indirectly across 19 sites. The company employs 15,300 professionals in key technology roles, helping bridge the country’s digital skills gap—estimated to cost the UK economy £1.5 billion annually.

“Tata Group and its companies like TCS are central to our trade mission—creating jobs, putting money in people’s pockets, and delivering growth across both countries,” said Minister Jason Stockwood.

The new London studio, modeled after TCS’s PacePort innovation hub, will promote client collaboration and leverage partnerships with academia and startups. It follows the opening of the New York Design Studio last month and underscores TCS’s position as a top technology partner for UK enterprises for over 50 years.

Vinay Singhvi, Head – UK & Ireland, TCS, said the UK remains the company’s second-largest market globally, adding:

“Our AI Experience Zone will foster innovation and collaboration, maintaining our edge in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.”

TCS’s ongoing initiatives, including the ‘Partnering for Skills’ programme to reskill 12,000 professionals, align with the UK’s workforce skilling agenda. Beyond business, TCS’s community engagement—such as sponsorship of the TCS London Marathon, which raised a record £73.5 million in 2024—reflects its enduring role as a bridge between the Indian and UK economies.
