Pune, October 7: Mercedes-Benz India has recorded its highest-ever monthly sales in its history, driven by strong festive demand and positive consumer sentiment following the GST 2.0 reforms. The luxury automaker achieved a 36% year-on-year growth in September 2025, retailing more than 2,500 cars in just nine days during the Navratri festive period — the highest ever for the brand in India.

With 5,119 units sold in Q2 FY25–26, Mercedes-Benz also achieved its best-ever quarterly performance, taking its April–September 2025 sales to 9,357 units, up 4% from the previous year.

Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said the company’s strong September performance was fuelled by a combination of the GST rate reduction, pent-up demand, and innovative customer engagement campaigns.

“Our attractive new portfolio and innovative financial programmes under the ‘Dream Days’ campaign resulted in overwhelming demand. The GST 2.0 reforms came at an appropriate time, improving customer sentiment even as the industry faces macroeconomic challenges like forex volatility and rising costs. We expect the festive momentum to continue through Diwali,” Iyer said.

Strong Growth Across Segments

Mercedes-Benz reported record monthly sales for its flagship Long Wheelbase E-Class sedan and SUVs including the GLC, GLE, GLS, and AMG G63.

The company’s ‘Top-End Luxury’ segment — comprising GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, and AMG G63 — grew 12% year-on-year, accounting for 25% of overall sales. The brand’s ‘manufaktur’ bespoke customization programme now represents 75% of all top-end luxury vehicles sold in India.

The ‘Core Luxury’ segment, led by the LWB E-Class, GLC, and GLE SUVs, registered a 10% quarterly growth and contributed 60% of overall sales. The E-Class maintained its position as India’s best-selling luxury sedan with 47% year-on-year growth in Q2.

The ‘Entry Luxury’ range, comprising the A-Class sedan and GLA SUV, continues to attract younger customers with its value-oriented proposition, although it saw a marginal decline due to competitive price dynamics in the segment.

BEVs Gain Traction

Mercedes-Benz’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) portfolio contributed 8% of total sales, growing 10% during the quarter. The EQS SUV recorded its highest monthly sales, while the G 580 Edition 1 with EQ Technology was sold out for 2025, with fresh bookings now open for the next allocation.

30 Years of Mercedes-Benz in India

Celebrating over three decades in India, Mercedes-Benz operates a 100-acre production facility in Chakan near Pune, representing an investment of over ₹3,000 crore — the largest among luxury carmakers in the country. The company boasts over 100 luxury touchpoints across 50 cities and remains the only brand to locally produce two luxury BEVs in India.

Mercedes-Benz India’s product range spans sedans, SUVs, AMGs, and Maybach models, along with an expanding BEV portfolio that includes the EQS 580 sedan, EQS SUV 450, EQA 250+, EQB, and Maybach EQS 680 SUV.
