Bengaluru: Tata Elxsi has launched AnaTel™, an AI-native software development platform designed for healthcare and medical technology companies, as the company expands its focus on AI-driven engineering solutions for regulated healthcare environments.

The platform has been co-developed with OpenAna, a provider of autonomous AI engineering platforms, and was officially introduced at DeviceTalks Boston 2026, where Tata Elxsi is showcasing its latest developments in AI-powered MedTech engineering and compliance systems.

According to Tata Elxsi, AnaTel™ is designed to address growing operational and regulatory challenges faced by healthcare and medical device software teams, particularly amid increasing compliance expectations around AI-enabled medical software in the United States and Europe.

The company said the platform integrates autonomous AI agents directly into the software engineering workflow, enabling automated generation of code, test cases, regulatory documentation, traceability matrices and validation evidence required for medical device compliance processes.

Unlike conventional developer productivity tools focused primarily on code generation, AnaTel™ operates across the full software delivery lifecycle, including requirements engineering, architecture, deployment, verification, validation and continuous optimisation, Tata Elxsi stated.

The platform also supports eSTAR-aligned submission preparation and audit-trail documentation for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) development environments. Tata Elxsi said AnaTel™ could reduce development and change assessment timelines from nearly eight weeks to 72 hours while improving productivity by up to 60 percent.

Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President and Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences at Tata Elxsi, said the platform accelerates regulatory-ready software engineering while ensuring that engineering and regulatory experts remain in control of all critical decision points.

Rajiv Sondhi, CEO of OpenAna, said the partnership aims to bring autonomous AI engineering capabilities into highly regulated healthcare and MedTech environments where lifecycle traceability, safety and compliance are critical requirements.

Muthusamy Selvaraj, Vice President for Innovation and Partnerships at Tata Elxsi Healthcare and Life Sciences, said the platform was developed under STEP.UP, Tata Elxsi’s co-innovation programme for deep-tech companies.

Tata Elxsi said its Healthcare and Life Sciences practice is ISO 13485 certified and works with global medical device companies across product engineering, digital health, connected devices and regulatory support services.
