Mumbai, October 27: HDFC Securities has launched ‘Kya Aap Taiyyar Ho?’, a nationwide fraud awareness movement under its flagship #KnowYourMoney initiative, combining cinematic storytelling, online innovation, and ground-level education to empower citizens against investment scams and financial frauds.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the acclaimed filmmaker behind Dangal and Chhichhore, the campaign uses humour and realism to expose the mechanics of modern scams through a fictional ‘Fraudster Family’. Featuring actors Manoj Pahwa, Bhuvan Arora, Sapna Sand, Shrikant Verma, Nutan Surya, Simran Shah, and Siddhant, the campaign dramatizes how emotional manipulation and online deception can mislead investors, transforming financial literacy into an engaging and relatable experience.

“When you see families losing their hard-earned savings to fraud, you realize awareness isn’t optional—it’s essential,” said Tiwari. “Through our association with HDFC Securities’ #KnowYourMoney initiative, we’re using storytelling to help India escape the traps of investment frauds. In today’s fast-moving financial world, knowledge is the real safety net.”

Since its launch in early 2025, #KnowYourMoney has become one of India’s largest hybrid financial literacy programs, reaching 1.1 crore citizens every week through multilingual content and community sessions. Its gamified learning modules, available in 13 Indian languages, cover essentials like banking, budgeting, retirement planning, and fraud prevention, making financial education accessible to people from all walks of life.

Puneeth Bekal, Executive Vice President and CMO of HDFC Securities, said the campaign represents a national movement toward economic resilience. “Investment fraud has evolved in scale and sophistication, and the only sustainable defense is awareness. Through #KnowYourMoney and ‘Kya Aap Taiyyar Ho?’, we are enabling Indians to make informed financial decisions. This isn’t just a campaign—it’s a movement toward financial security.”

To ensure widespread reach, HDFC Securities has partnered with Wagons Learning, EmpowHer India, and Access Livelihoods Foundation to extend the initiative across both urban and rural India. These collaborations have already facilitated structured financial literacy sessions across Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, and Karnataka, training over a thousand teachers and distributing learning kits to students and community members. The program aims to reach 14,000 colleges in 22 states via the Bharat Skills portal of the Directorate General of Training (DGT).

Complementing this outreach, HDFC Securities is deploying a suite of creative and interactive initiatives — including the Bear and Bull comic strip in four languages, a financial fraud podcast series hosted by leading finance journalists, and gamified awareness activities like the ‘Scam or Not’ challenge, the ‘Investment Heist’ card game, and the upcoming ‘Fraudster’s Dossier’, a practical guide to spotting scams.

Ayyappan Raj, Co-founder of The Script Room, said the campaign’s intent is to humanize financial scams. “The concept of scamming isn’t just about faceless tech—it’s about people deceiving people. We wanted to make it human, relatable, and easy to understand, so that awareness becomes second nature,” he said.

‘Kya Aap Taiyyar Ho?’ also honours everyday heroes who have successfully identified and prevented frauds, underscoring that vigilance and awareness are everyone’s responsibility. Through film, outreach, and education, HDFC Securities continues its 25-year legacy of guiding investors toward informed and responsible financial behaviour.

Blending cinematic narrative with social impact, the campaign delivers a powerful message: financial literacy isn’t just information—it’s security. And every citizen deserves it.
