New Delhi, November 4: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Minister of State (PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions) Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated a Mega Pensioners’ Camp organized by the State Bank of India (SBI) at the NDMC Convention Hall under the nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 4.0.

The event, held on Monday, witnessed the successful generation of over 500 Digital Life Certificates using advanced digital authentication methods. The initiative, led by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW), aims to simplify the pension verification process and promote digital empowerment among India’s senior citizens.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Jitendra Singh lauded the government’s efforts to enhance the Ease of Living for pensioners through the use of Digital Life Certificates, particularly the Face Authentication technology, which allows pensioners to generate certificates “anytime, anywhere” using smartphones. “This is a game changer for aged and ailing pensioners who no longer need to visit banks or offices to submit their life certificates,” he said.

The month-long Nationwide DLC Campaign 4.0 (November 1–30, 2025) is being conducted in collaboration with several partners, including pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Pensioners’ Welfare Associations, CGDA, EPFO, DoT, Railways, UIDAI, and MeitY, covering even the remotest parts of the country.

During the event, Dr Singh personally demonstrated the Face Authentication DLC process, showcasing its speed, accuracy, and accessibility. Pensioners present at the camp expressed deep satisfaction with the digital transformation, describing it as a major step toward transparency and convenience in governance.

V. Srinivas, Secretary (P&PW), also interacted with participants and felicitated senior pensioners who have made notable contributions to public life.

The Digital Life Certificate initiative continues to play a vital role in promoting Digital India’s citizen-centric governance model, reducing manual paperwork, and ensuring that pension disbursements remain seamless and efficient nationwide.
