Two-day summit in New Delhi to bring policymakers, regulators and industry leaders on one platform

New Delhi: The Department of Pharmaceuticals will host the 9th edition of India Pharma 2026 on April 13–14 in New Delhi, positioning the event as a key platform to drive innovation and global collaboration in the life sciences sector.

Organised in partnership with FICCI and the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance, the event will be held at Federation House and is expected to bring together policymakers, global pharma leaders and domain experts to shape the future of India’s pharmaceutical ecosystem.

The conference will be inaugurated by Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, and MoS Anupriya Patel, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening India’s pharmaceutical capabilities and global partnerships.

With the theme “Discover in India: Leapfrogging Life-Sciences Innovation,” the event aims to accelerate India’s transition from a volume-driven pharmaceutical producer to a value- and innovation-led global hub.

The summit will focus on critical areas such as research and development, resilient global supply chains, regulatory frameworks and emerging technologies shaping the future of healthcare.

Senior policymakers including Manoj Joshi, Secretary, department of pharmaceuticals; Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; and Vinod K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog, will participate in the discussions.

The event will also feature global and domestic regulatory perspectives, with participation from Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, drug controller general of India, along with representatives from CDSCO and the US FDA.

Industry leaders from leading pharmaceutical companies, including Sun Pharma, Zydus Lifesciences, Cipla, Mankind Pharma, Eli Lilly India and Abbott India, will contribute insights on innovation, investment and sectoral growth.

The two-day programme will include six plenary sessions covering policy support for innovation, regulatory ecosystems, artificial intelligence and next-generation technologies, contract research and manufacturing opportunities, financing frameworks and strategic priorities for future growth.

A dedicated start-up showcase will also highlight emerging innovations and entrepreneurial potential within the sector.

India Pharma 2026 is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s ambitions of becoming a global hub for pharmaceutical innovation, aligned with the broader vision of building a self-reliant and globally competitive healthcare ecosystem.
