Hyderabad: Align Technology, the global medical device company known for the Invisalign clear aligner system, has announced plans to invest approximately ₹1,800 crore in Telangana to establish its first manufacturing facility in India.

The proposed facility in Hyderabad will become Align Technology’s fourth manufacturing site globally and is expected to generate more than 300 direct jobs over the next several years.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Jitse Marree, Senior Vice President of Align Technology, and Sarvesh Singh, CEO of Telangana Life Sciences, representing the Government of Telangana.

Senior executives from Align Technology also met Duddilla Sridhar Babu to discuss the company’s expansion plans and Hyderabad’s industrial ecosystem, talent availability and infrastructure support.

According to the company, the proposed manufacturing facility has the potential to evolve into a major global production and operations hub contributing significantly to Align Technology’s worldwide manufacturing capacity of nearly ten lakh unique clear aligner parts per day.

The facility will leverage large-scale 3D printing, advanced manufacturing systems and digital technologies, further strengthening Telangana’s rapidly growing MedTech and precision manufacturing ecosystem.

Welcoming the investment proposal, Sridhar Babu said Telangana has emerged as one of the world’s leading life sciences and healthcare innovation ecosystems supported by strong digital infrastructure, world-class research institutions and a highly skilled talent pool.

“Align Technology’s decision to plan its India manufacturing presence in Telangana reflects the growing global confidence in our state’s strengths across MedTech, life sciences, precision manufacturing and healthcare innovation,” the minister said.

The Hyderabad manufacturing facility is expected to commence operations in 2027 and will complement Align Technology’s existing presence in the city, including its Global Capability Centre and Align Innovation Center (AIC).

The investment is expected to accelerate Hyderabad’s emergence as a global hub for MedTech, advanced healthcare manufacturing and engineering-driven industries while creating opportunities for ancillary industries and skilled professionals in the region.
