BIMTECH strengthens AI innovation ecosystem with Centre of Excellence in Greater Noida
BIMTECH has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence on AI in Greater Noida, bringing students and faculty together for hands-on learning, AI innovation and real-world technology solutions.
The event was attended by advisory board members Neeraj Gehani, Global Product Director, Dunnhumby; Varoon Govil, Executive Director, MSCI Inc.; and Dr. Saumendra Mohanty, Consultant, ValueFirst, a Tanla company.

GREATER NOIDA: Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has inaugurated a Centre of Excellence on Artificial Intelligence (AI) at its Greater Noida campus, strengthening its focus on experiential learning, innovation and technology-driven education.
The inauguration brought together more than 400 students and faculty members under the theme “Learn. Build. Deploy. Innovate”, with participants gaining hands-on exposure to AI tools, modern development workflows and real-world applications.
The event was attended by advisory board members Neeraj Gehani, Global Product Director, Dunnhumby; Varoon Govil, Executive Director, MSCI Inc.; and Dr. Saumendra Mohanty, Consultant, ValueFirst, a Tanla company.
The structured learning programme covered AI fundamentals, the Generative AI ecosystem, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Google Cloud credits and resources, along with live project development and deployment.
Participants worked on challenges across MedTech, FinTech, EdTech and Open Innovation, developing solutions aimed at addressing real-world problems. The programme encouraged teams to move from identifying a problem to building and deploying working solutions.
Dr. Prabina Rajib, Director, BIMTECH, said the Centre of Excellence on AI marked an important step in the institute’s commitment to technology-driven and experiential learning, with the aim of equipping students and the wider academic community to learn, build and innovate in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
Participants developed AI-powered applications, automation tools and prototypes, including solutions for personalised stock and mutual fund management as well as personal health and care.
The event also featured demonstrations of the projects developed by participants, with teams evaluated on innovation, impact, technical execution and overall quality.
The winning teams were Rank 1 – Wroom Wroom, comprising Kartik Saxena, Kritika Digari, Kumari Shachi and Bhavna Mittal; Rank 2 – LOSER CORE, represented by Bhavya Rawat; and Rank 3 – CARPIEDEM, comprising Sakshi Jaiswal, Ruchi Yadav, Rishita Agarwal and Ranjan Kumar Singh.
The top-performing teams received cash prizes and other accolades, while all participating students and participants were awarded certificates.
BIMTECH said the Centre of Excellence will further support its focus on experiential learning through industry collaborations, workshops, hackathons, research and student-led projects, with an emphasis on connecting classroom learning with practical applications of emerging technologies.
