Department of Posts, DTDC Sign MoU to Boost Logistics and E-Commerce Reach Across India

New Delhi: The Department of Posts India and DTDC Express Limited on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen logistics capabilities and support the growing e-commerce ecosystem in the country.
The agreement was formalized in New Delhi by Neeraj Kumar Jha, General Manager, Parcel Directorate, Department of Posts, and Jatinder Sethi, National Channel Head, DTDC Express, in the presence of senior officials.
The partnership aims to leverage the Department of Posts’ extensive nationwide network alongside DTDC’s logistics expertise to enhance parcel delivery operations, including Cash on Delivery (COD) services. DTDC will gain access to the postal department’s vast network of over 1.64 lakh post offices, enabling deeper market penetration, particularly in rural and remote regions.
The collaboration will focus on joint logistics operations, capacity sharing, adoption of best practices, and alignment of marketing strategies to improve service quality and operational efficiency. Both organizations will also establish quarterly review mechanisms to assess progress and identify new growth opportunities.
For the Department of Posts, the partnership is expected to strengthen its parcel business by improving delivery speed and expanding service capabilities. The initiative aligns with broader efforts to enhance India’s logistics infrastructure and support the country’s ambition of becoming a global logistics hub.
