New Delhi, November 3: The India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, successfully observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2, under the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” The week-long observance focused on promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across all levels of the organization.

Speaking on the occasion, Mugdha Sinha, Managing Director, ITDC, said the observance provided an opportunity to “reflect, engage, and collectively reaffirm our commitment to transparency and accountability,” adding that the tourism and hospitality industry rests on the foundation of ethical conduct. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Chief Vigilance Officer, ITDC, highlighted that in line with Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) directives, the corporation continues to strengthen preventive vigilance measures, enhance asset management systems, and implement digital vigilance initiatives.

The week commenced with employees across ITDC’s corporate offices, hotels, catering units, regional offices, Ashok Travels & Tours, and the Ashok Institute of Hospitality & Tourism Management (AIHTM) taking the Integrity Pledge. Students of AIHTM organized engaging activities such as poster making, slogan writing, debates, and quizzes, inspiring participants to envision a corruption-free India.

Interactive sessions by external experts, including a capacity-building workshop on preventive vigilance, were conducted to foster awareness and a culture of integrity. As part of its outreach, students staged a Nukkad Natak on the importance of vigilance in daily life, while a Walkathon symbolized the collective commitment toward transparency and ethical conduct.

Incorporated in 1966, ITDC continues to play a key role in developing tourism infrastructure in India and has diversified into sectors such as travel, event management, printing consultancy, sound and light shows, and hospitality education, reinforcing its vision of growth built on integrity and service excellence.
