New Delhi, October 21: The Ministry of Steel and its Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) have reported significant progress in the ongoing Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0, being conducted from October 2 to 31, 2025.

The campaign focuses on strengthening governance and improving efficiency by addressing pending matters across key categories, including references from Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office, VIPs, Cabinet, and state governments, as well as CPGRAMS cases and other official communications.

According to the ministry’s mid-term report:

  • 96% of public grievance redressal targets have already been achieved.
  • 8,525 physical files have been weeded out.
  • 195 cleanliness drives have been conducted against a target of 282.
  • Around 9,851 sq. ft. of office space has been reclaimed through the disposal of scrap, e-waste, and redundant records.

Several CPSEs under the ministry have also adopted innovative record management and grievance resolution practices, creating replicable models for other departments.

The Ministry of Steel reaffirmed its commitment to administrative efficiency, cleanliness, and transparency, aligning with the broader objectives of governance reform and the Government of India’s Special Campaign 5.0 initiative.
