Telangana tops national rankings in PMO review of cybercrime performance
The state secured the top rank in the PMO's nationwide PRAGATI review for cybercrime initiatives, excelling in digital investigations, grievance redressal, fund recovery and public awareness.

HYDERABAD: Telangana has emerged as the top-performing state in the country in combating cybercrime, securing the No. 1 overall rank in the nationwide PRAGATI review conducted by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The review assessed the implementation and performance of cybercrime initiatives across all states and union territories across nine key parameters, including the establishment of State Cyber Coordination Centres (S4C), implementation of e-Zero FIR, Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM), Money Restoration Module (MRM), Sahyog Portal, Samanvaya Portal, identification of cybercrime hotspots, capacity building of law enforcement personnel and public awareness programmes.
The PMO appreciated Telangana’s effective implementation of citizen-centric digital platforms developed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB), the state recorded an 88 per cent performance rate under the Grievance Redressal Module by acting on 2,086 of the 2,368 grievances received.
Through the Money Restoration Module, authorities processed 34,524 cyber fraud cases involving recoverable funds worth ₹16.42 crore. More than 81 per cent of law enforcement orders related to fund restoration were successfully implemented.
On the Sahyog Portal, Telangana facilitated the removal or disabling of access to 20,070 unlawful URLs out of 22,447 processed, achieving an 89.41 per cent success rate.
The state also recorded a 96.68 per cent completion rate in responding to interstate cybercrime requests received through the Samanvaya Portal, demonstrating effective coordination with law enforcement agencies across the country.
To strengthen citizen services, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau has launched a dedicated helpline (8712665600) to assist cybercrime victims with grievance redressal and money restoration. The bureau has also released awareness videos on its official social media platforms to educate citizens about the available digital services.
