Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has proposed the integration of Hyderabad’s traffic signal network with advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enable smarter and more efficient traffic management, particularly during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rainfall.

The proposal was discussed during a meeting with Analog Founder and CEO Alex Kipman and MEIL Managing Director P. Krishna Reddy at the Bodhi Pavilion in the MCR HRD Institute in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister stressed the need to build an integrated traffic management system capable of dynamically regulating traffic flow using AI and real-time data to reduce congestion and improve urban mobility.

During the meeting, executives from Analog and MEIL presented a pilot project on intelligent traffic management in Hyderabad and demonstrated how emerging technologies could provide immediate and long-term solutions to urban infrastructure challenges.

They also outlined their vision for “Next Generation Intelligent Infrastructure” powered by Physical Intelligence—an advanced technology framework that combines sensors, robotics and AI to enable infrastructure to sense, analyse and respond autonomously to real-world conditions.

The companies explained that physical intelligence could transform urban transportation by making it safer, more efficient and highly responsive. They showcased the concept of “Cognitive Cities,” where infrastructure continuously monitors and adapts to changing conditions in real time.

Under this vision, traffic signals could automatically adjust based on congestion levels, water leakages could be detected and repaired before they become major problems, electricity distribution could be optimised according to demand, and emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire tenders could receive automatic green corridors through intelligent traffic management.

The companies said these technologies would help governments improve operational efficiency, enhance citizen services and enable data-driven infrastructure planning for rapidly growing cities.

On the occasion, Analog and MEIL signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of the Chief Minister to strengthen technical collaboration and jointly develop innovation-driven intelligent infrastructure solutions.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Advisor K. Ramakrishna Rao, and B. Ajith Reddy, CEO of Invest Telangana and Additional Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail, were present during the meeting.
