Centre Launches SHE-LEAPS Platform to Digitally Empower Lakhpati Didis Across India
New digital platform to support women-led SHG enterprises, real-time monitoring and financial inclusion in 34 States and UTs
With the nationwide rollout of SHE-LEAPS, the government aims to create a scalable digital ecosystem that supports rural entrepreneurship while advancing inclusive economic growth through technology-enabled governance.

New Delhi: In a major push towards digital empowerment of rural women entrepreneurs, the Centre has launched SHE-LEAPS (Self-Help Entrepreneur-Livelihoods and Enterprise Application for Prosperity and Sustainability), a nationwide digital platform designed to strengthen women-led Self-Help Group (SHG) enterprises and accelerate the Lakhpati Didi mission.
Developed by the Digital India Corporation and implemented under the LokOS platform, the mobile application provides a unified digital ecosystem for enterprise creation, performance tracking and livelihood management for women associated with SHGs across rural India. The platform supports both farm and non-farm enterprises while promoting financial inclusion and data-driven rural entrepreneurship.
The platform was launched on June 29 during the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan in New Delhi, where policymakers reviewed the progress of major rural development programmes and discussed strategies for achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Gram – Viksit Bharat’.
SHE-LEAPS will be rolled out across 34 States and Union Territories, assisting State Rural Livelihood Missions by capturing real-time enterprise data and providing greater visibility into rural economic activities. The digital platform is expected to improve monitoring, governance and evidence-based policymaking at both state and national levels.
The application tracks the complete livelihood journey of women entrepreneurs—from enterprise profile creation to performance monitoring—enabling better planning, timely interventions and improved delivery of government support programmes. According to the government release, the platform integrates eight key services, including Producer Group System, Entrepreneur & Enterprise Profile, Producer Enterprise System, Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana, Cluster Management, Incubator Support System, Custom Hiring Centre and the PMFME Scheme System.
The initiative is expected to play a significant role in scaling the government’s Lakhpati Didi programme. The Centre has recently doubled the scheme’s target from 3 crore to 6 crore women and plans to provide ₹10 lakh crore over the next five years to support women-led enterprises and income generation. SHE-LEAPS will provide end-to-end digital tracking of enterprise performance and income growth to support this expansion.
Officials said the platform combines digital infrastructure with entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, enabling rural women to build sustainable businesses while integrating them into formal value chains. Besides strengthening women-led enterprises, the platform is expected to improve transparency, facilitate data-driven governance and contribute to building a stronger rural economy.
With the nationwide rollout of SHE-LEAPS, the government aims to create a scalable digital ecosystem that supports rural entrepreneurship while advancing inclusive economic growth through technology-enabled governance.
