75 companies partner with ICAR to scale farm technologies through CSR initiatives
CSR Conclave mobilises industry support for climate-resilient agriculture, technology commercialisation and farmers' livelihoods
Marking a significant stride in fostering agricultural innovation and public-private collaboration, Agrinnovate India Limited successfully facilitated the transfer of 13 advanced technologies developed by various ICAR institutes to industry partners.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has secured strong corporate backing for accelerating the adoption of agricultural technologies, with more than 75 industries participating in the ICAR Technology Portfolio for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave 2026 and several leading companies committing to collaborate on CSR and research initiatives.
Organised jointly by ICAR and Agrinnovate India Limited (AgIn) at the NASC Complex in New Delhi, the conclave served as a platform to connect research institutions with corporate organisations, industry leaders and philanthropic institutions to promote sustainable agricultural development through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The event showcased ICAR’s portfolio of CSR-ready technologies and scalable innovations aimed at addressing some of Indian agriculture’s most pressing challenges. The technologies were presented across five priority themes—climate-proofing agriculture, soil health improvement through nature-based solutions and crop diversification, agriculture for health, agricultural skilling, and women in agriculture and extension.
The conclave witnessed participation from around 150 representatives of 75 industries, while another 570 participants joined online. The event’s live webcast attracted more than 1,600 viewers, reflecting growing corporate interest in supporting agricultural innovation through CSR partnerships.
Regional roadshows build industry engagement
Ahead of the national conclave, ICAR organised four regional CSR and Technology Portfolio Roadshows in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kolkata to build industry partnerships for technology commercialisation and sustainable agricultural development.
The roadshows brought together corporate organisations, startups, entrepreneurs, NGOs, ICAR institutes and industry stakeholders, attracting more than 500 participants. According to ICAR, several organisations expressed interest in supporting agricultural innovation through CSR-funded initiatives.
Leading corporates commit support
The conclave concluded with a number of leading corporate organisations and industry bodies expressing their commitment to collaborate with ICAR and Agrinnovate India through CSR and Research & Development (R&D) initiatives.
The organisations include Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited (AICL), SBI Foundation, UCO Bank, ICICI Foundation, Biovet Pvt. Ltd., Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), INFAH, Venkateshwara Hatcheries Pvt. Ltd., Pidilite Industries Ltd., and Yes Bank.
According to ICAR, these partnerships are expected to accelerate the commercialisation and large-scale adoption of agricultural technologies, promote sustainable farming practices and improve the livelihoods of farming communities across the country.
The conclave reaffirmed ICAR’s strategy of leveraging science, innovation and public-private partnerships to drive inclusive agricultural growth by connecting researchers, policymakers, industry leaders and CSR stakeholders under a common platform.
