New Delhi, September 26: The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has launched a nationwide campaign during Vigilance Awareness Week under the theme “GeM Ki Sunien, Satark Rahein, Zimmedar Banein”, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, integrity, and ethical practices in public procurement.

The initiative is designed as a comprehensive awareness and educational drive, urging buyers to adopt best practices, comply with procurement rules, and use GeM’s in-built safeguards. It also empowers sellers—particularly last-mile entrepreneurs, startups, women-led enterprises, and micro and small enterprises (MSEs) from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities—by providing secure, transparent, and inclusive opportunities on the platform.

GeM’s safeguards, such as red-flag alerts, structured bid conditions, and transparent audit trails, ensure fairness and trust in every transaction. As part of the campaign, GeM has begun vernacular press outreach in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to deepen awareness among diverse business communities.

CEO Mihir Kumar emphasized that GeM represents a national commitment to fairness and inclusion. “By connecting last-mile sellers, startups, and small businesses with buyers across India, GeM ensures that growth remains inclusive, ethical, and sustainable,” he said.

The platform is also expanding opportunities with eight #VocalForLocal outlets and curated pages for startups, SHGs, artisans, weavers, and FPOs. With simplified policies—97% of orders exempt from transaction fees and no caution money requirement for new sellers—participation has become more affordable and accessible for MSEs.

The results are already visible: in Madhya Pradesh, sellers have secured orders worth ₹38,027 crore, including ₹26,937 crore by MSEs and ₹3,197 crore by women-led enterprises. In Chhattisgarh, orders worth ₹87,873 crore have been placed, with MSEs contributing ₹48,575 crore. These figures reflect GeM’s growing role as India’s trusted public procurement ecosystem and its mission to build a transparent, equitable, and inclusive marketplace.
