Hyderabad, August 21: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) will host its flagship International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) in India for the first time, marking a historic milestone in the event’s global legacy. Scheduled from September 10-13, 2025 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), the conference will bring together leading minds to deliberate on the theme “Sustainability, Innovation, and Inclusivity.”

Traditionally held in the United States, IMECE has been a premier platform for collaboration among engineers, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders. The India edition will feature 650 research papers, 400 speakers, 15,000 delegates, and 100 exhibitors, creating a robust platform to advance knowledge, foster partnerships, and drive sustainable solutions across industries.

The conference program will include diverse technical tracks such as Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing, Advanced Materials, Clean Energy Systems, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Robotics & Automation, Cyber-Physical Systems with AI/ML, Gas Turbines, and Offshore & Onshore Pipeline Technologies. Experts will also deliberate on structural dynamics, pressure technologies, and advanced thermal systems.

Highlighting India’s growing stature in global innovation, Madhukar Sharma, Director, ASME India, said:
“Hosting this prestigious global congress in India demonstrates the nation’s emergence as a hub for sustainable innovation and technological leadership. With the focus on sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, IMECE India 2025 will not only showcase groundbreaking research but also enable meaningful collaboration across academia, industry, and government.”

Dr K. Subramanian, Senior Vice President of Ashok Leyland and Congress Chair, added: “This first edition of IMECE India will convene global experts to address challenges in AI, sustainable design, and technology’s role in solving global issues. It is an opportunity for India’s engineering community to engage at the highest international level.”

The event will also host eminent keynote speakers including Dr Babasaheb N. Kalyani (Bharat Forge), Dr N. Kalaiselvi (CSIR), Pawan K. Chandana (Skyroot Aerospace), Ravinder Singh (Reliance Renewables), Anil V. Parab (L&T), Dr Jocelyn Gaudin (Airbus India), and senior ASME leadership from the USA.
