NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday declared the written results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2026, with qualified candidates shortlisted for the Personality Test for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other Central Services under Group A and Group B.

The Main Examination was conducted from August 21 to 30, 2026. The Commission said the candidature of shortlisted candidates is provisional, subject to verification of their eligibility and supporting documents, including certificates relating to age, educational qualifications and reservation claims.

Online application update from November 11

Candidates who have qualified for the interview must fill in or update the required information in their online application form through the UPSC online portal between November 11 and November 25, 2026, up to 6 pm.

The required details include educational qualifications, correspondence and permanent addresses, employment and service experience, achievements, marital status, service preferences, home cadre and other applicable information.

Candidates who have already submitted the required information and have nothing to update must still log in, verify their details and finally submit the application form. Failure to complete this process will result in non-issuance of the e-Summon Letter for the interview.

Candidates who had indicated their educational qualification status as appearing at the time of the Preliminary Examination must mandatorily update their qualification status and upload proof of passing the requisite examination. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of candidature.

Interview schedule to be announced

The Personality Tests will be held at the UPSC office at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi. The Commission will notify the interview schedule and make e-Summon Letters available through its websites, upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in.

No physical summon letters will be issued. Candidates facing difficulties downloading their e-Summon Letters can contact the Commission at 011-40303444 or 011-24041001, or write to csm-upsc@nic.in.

All qualified candidates must also submit the online Attestation Form through the Department of Personnel and Training portal. The form will be available from the commencement of the Personality Tests until their conclusion.

The marks sheets of all candidates will be uploaded on the UPSC website within 15 days of declaration of the final result, following completion of the interviews, and will remain available for 30 days.
