Hyderabad: Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM) on Friday inaugurated Telangana’s first high-speed TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub in Hyderabad, marking a significant step in expanding the state’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure and supporting the transition towards sustainable mobility.
Located at the iLabs Centre in Hitech City, the new charging hub has been designed to cater to Hyderabad’s rapidly growing electric vehicle ecosystem, serving private EV owners, commercial fleets, ride-hailing operators, corporate commuters and intercity travellers.
High-Speed Charging Infrastructure
The MegaCharger Hub is equipped with a total charging capacity of 360 kW, comprising three 120 kW ultra-fast charging dispensers capable of charging up to six electric vehicles simultaneously.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the facility is expected to significantly reduce charging time while improving convenience for EV users in one of India’s fastest-growing technology and business hubs.
Supporting Telangana’s EV Ambitions
The inauguration was attended by Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary to the Government of Telangana, TGSPDCL CMD Jitesh Patel and Gopalakrishnan VC, Director, Automotive and EV Sector, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Karnataka, along with senior representatives from Tata Power and Tata Motors.
The charging hub aligns with Telangana’s broader efforts to strengthen electric mobility infrastructure as the state continues to attract investments in clean transportation, advanced manufacturing and sustainable urban development.
Part of a Growing National Charging Network
The Hyderabad facility becomes part of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility’s rapidly expanding TATA.ev MegaCharger network, which now includes more than 750 fast-charging points across major cities and highway corridors in India.
Many of these charging stations are integrated with the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which has crossed five lakh registered users, enabling EV owners to locate, access and manage charging services digitally.
Tata Power Expands EV Infrastructure Nationwide
Tata Power has emerged as one of India’s largest EV charging infrastructure providers, with a network spanning more than 6,500 public charging points across over 700 cities and towns. The company has also installed over 2.3 lakh home chargers in partnership with leading automobile manufacturers, offering end-to-end charging solutions for electric vehicle owners.
The expansion comes as India’s electric mobility ecosystem gathers pace, supported by growing consumer adoption, policy incentives and increasing investments in charging infrastructure. High-speed charging hubs such as the Hyderabad facility are expected to play an important role in addressing range anxiety while encouraging wider adoption of electric vehicles among both individual consumers and commercial fleet operators.
