Mumbai: PwC India has announced a leadership transition in its Deals practice, with Shashank Jain stepping down as Co-Leader to pursue an opportunity in the industry. The practice will now be led by Mohit Chopra, ensuring continuity in one of the firm’s key growth areas.

The firm acknowledged Jain’s contribution over nearly three decades, highlighting his role in building and strengthening its transaction services capabilities in India. Dinesh Arora, Partner and Leader – Advisory at PwC India, noted that Jain had been instrumental in guiding clients through complex transactions and shaping the firm’s presence in the evolving mergers and acquisitions landscape.

Arora also described Jain’s journey within PwC – from an intern to a senior leader – as a testament to the firm’s leadership development ecosystem and professional culture.

The Deals practice remains a strategic priority for PwC India, with expectations of continued growth under Chopra’s leadership. The firm said Chopra will build on the existing foundation while supporting clients through transformational transactions and strategic decisions.

Reflecting on his tenure, Jain said his experience at PwC had been shaped by a strong culture of learning and commitment to quality. He added that he has been working closely with Chopra and the team to ensure a smooth transition and expressed confidence in the future direction of the practice.
