Over 60,000 verified centres to be searchable nationwide; facility expected in coming months
New Delhi: Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has joined hands with Google to enable the display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps, a move aimed at enhancing access and convenience for residents across the country.
The collaboration will allow people to locate their nearest verified Aadhaar centres and check the nature of services offered, including adult enrolment, child enrolment, or address and mobile number updates. Users will also be able to view operational details such as working hours, parking availability and divyang-friendly infrastructure, wherever applicable.
The facility is expected to be rolled out in the coming months.
According to UIDAI, the initiative is designed to improve public convenience, counter misinformation and ensure seamless access to more than 60,000 Aadhaar centres nationwide, including Aadhaar Seva Kendras. When users search for Aadhaar services on Google Maps, they will be directed to verified and authorised centres.
“UIDAI is always focused on improving ease of living for Aadhaar number holders. This collaboration will ensure that navigating the authorised Aadhaar centres is now simpler, faster and more transparent,” said Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI.
In the next phase of the partnership, UIDAI will leverage Google Business Profile to manage and update centre information and respond directly to public feedback, creating a more transparent and responsive service ecosystem.
Looking ahead, the two organisations will explore enabling direct appointment bookings through the Google Maps interface, allowing residents to plan their visits more efficiently.
“By joining hands with UIDAI to integrate verified Aadhaar centres, we are making it easier for millions of residents to find trusted services with confidence and bridging the gap between essential government infrastructure and the people who need it most,” said Roli Agarwal, Country Head, Strategic Partnerships at Google India.
