New Delhi, October 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called upon citizens across the country to actively participate in the Run for Unity on October 31, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The nationwide event commemorates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and celebrates the enduring spirit of unity and nation-building that Patel envisioned for India.

Responding to a post by Ekta Diwas Bharat on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote,

“Join the Run for Unity on 31st October and celebrate the spirit of togetherness! Let’s honour Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India.”

The Run for Unity is organised annually across states and union territories, encouraging citizens from all walks of life to reaffirm their commitment to national integration. The event also pays tribute to Patel’s pivotal role in unifying more than 560 princely states after independence, laying the foundation for a cohesive and modern Indian republic.

Officials said the main celebration will take place at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, where large-scale events, parades, and youth participation drives are planned to highlight Patel’s contribution to India’s unity and integrity.
