New Delhi, August 27: India is deploying more than 700 personnel from the Armed Forces and Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff to participate in the upcoming multilateral military exercise Bright Star 2025, scheduled to be held in Egypt from August 28 to September 10.

The biennial exercise, hosted jointly by Egypt and the United States since 1980, is regarded as one of the largest tri-service multilateral drills in the region. The 2025 edition will bring together armed forces from multiple nations to strengthen military-to-military cooperation, interoperability, and regional security.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the Indian contingent will take part in a full spectrum of activities. These include live firing exercises by the Army, Navy, and Air Force to demonstrate operational capabilities, a Command Post Exercise designed to enhance joint planning and decision-making, and short training drills simulating modern warfare scenarios. Subject Matter Expert interactions will also be held, covering multiple domains of contemporary military operations.

Officials said India’s participation highlights its commitment to regional peace, stability, and security while fostering jointness and collaboration with partner countries.

In the last edition held in 2023, India was among several nations that took part in the exercise alongside US, Egyptian and other international troops.
