New Delhi: NIIT University has announced a comprehensive scholarship programme for the academic year 2026, aimed at improving access to higher education and supporting meritorious and talented students across disciplines.
The scholarships will be offered under the university’s Scholar Search Programme and will be applicable to undergraduate and integrated programmes, including BBA, multiple BTech specialisations, and the integrated MBA (iMBA). Early admissions for the 2026 academic year are currently open, the university said.
Merit- and Performance-Based Support
According to the university, scholarships will be awarded based on either academic performance in Class X and Class XII or performance in specified national-level entrance examinations, including CUET, JEE, SAT, BITSAT and NEET.
Annual merit scholarships will range from ₹50,000 to ₹2,00,000 on tuition fees, depending on academic performance. In addition, students demonstrating exceptional merit may be eligible for full tuition fee waivers.
The university has also provided for scholarship upgradation even after admission, allowing students to receive enhanced benefits based on improved academic performance during the course of study.
Co-curricular and Inclusion-Focused Scholarships
As part of the 2026 scholarship framework, NIIT University will offer Co-curricular Excellence (CoX) scholarships to applicants with demonstrated achievements in areas such as sports, music, fine arts, theatre, dance or social service at school board, state, national or international levels.
To promote gender diversity in technical education, the university will also extend a Women in STEAM scholarship, providing ₹15,000 annually to all women applicants. This benefit can be availed in addition to merit-based or CoX scholarships.
Special Fee Waivers
The scholarship policy also includes special tuition fee waivers for select categories of students. These include:
- wards of Indian Armed Forces personnel, eligible for an annual waiver of ₹15,000,
- students domiciled in Rajasthan, eligible for ₹25,000 annually, and
- students belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories, eligible for ₹15,000 annually.
Academic Continuity and Eligibility
The scholarships will remain valid for the full duration of the programme, subject to students maintaining a minimum AGPA or CGPA of 6.0, in line with university policy. Under the Early Admission route, initial scholarships are offered based on Class X performance, with provisions for revision following Class XII results.
Prakash Gopalan, president of NIIT University, said the scholarship structure is designed to recognise academic merit, encourage co-curricular excellence and promote inclusion, while also offering flexibility for students to improve their scholarship standing as they progress.
