New Delhi | August 2: In a nationwide celebration of constitutional pride and civic awareness, the Ministry of Culture has been spearheading a year-long campaign titled “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman”, launched on November 26, 2024, to mark the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of India.

Observed annually as Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas), November 26 commemorates the historic moment in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly formally adopted the Indian Constitution. This year’s extended celebrations aim to deepen public engagement with the foundational values of Indian democracy.

Campaign Objectives:

  • Embed the Constitution in public consciousness through visible and cultural markers
  • Enhance awareness about constitutional provisions and their contemporary relevance
  • Recognize the monumental effort behind the drafting of the Constitution
  • Instill a sense of national pride in the values enshrined in the Constitution

According to data provided by the Ministry of Culture, more than 13,700 events have been conducted across India since the campaign’s launch, with participation exceeding 1 crore citizens.

This information was shared in the Lok Sabha by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, in response to a parliamentary question.

The campaign is expected to continue with more community-driven, educational, and cultural initiatives, reaffirming the relevance of the Constitution in everyday life and governance.
