New Delhi, September 14: The Government of India has announced the reopening of the application window for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods covering air conditioners and LED lights. The application period will run for 30 days, from September 15 to October 14, 2025, through the portal pliwg.dpiit.gov.in.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said the decision reflects strong industry appetite for further investments under the scheme, driven by growing domestic demand and increasing confidence in India’s manufacturing ecosystem. The window will operate under the same terms and conditions outlined in the original notification (April 16, 2021) and guidelines (June 4, 2021), with amendments as applicable.

Both new applicants and existing beneficiaries seeking to move to higher investment categories or apply under different target segments will be eligible, subject to fulfilling eligibility conditions and investment schedules. However, new approvals under this round will be eligible for incentives only for the remainder of the scheme’s tenure, which runs until FY 2028–29.

So far, 83 applicants with committed investments of ₹10,406 crore have been approved under the PLI scheme. These investments are expected to strengthen the domestic manufacturing value chain for AC and LED components, including items not currently produced in India at scale.

Approved by the Union Cabinet in April 2021, the PLI scheme for white goods has a total outlay of ₹6,238 crore over seven years. It forms part of the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat strategy to promote domestic manufacturing, reduce import dependence, and generate employment.
