EHTP units rise to 79 as exports cross ₹11,100 crore in FY 2025-26
India’s EHTP ecosystem has expanded to 79 units, with exports estimated at ₹11,101.81 crore in FY 2025-26, as the government seeks to strengthen electronics manufacturing and exports.

NEW DELHI: India’s Electronics Hardware Technology Park (EHTP) ecosystem has expanded steadily, with the number of approved and established units rising to 79 in FY 2025-26 from 73 in the previous year and 70 in FY 2023-24.
Exports by EHTP units stood at an estimated ₹11,101.81 crore in FY 2025-26, compared with ₹11,442.66 crore in FY 2024-25 and ₹9,677.98 crore in FY 2023-24, according to information provided by Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada in the Lok Sabha on August 12.
The EHTP Scheme is a 100% export-oriented scheme aimed at promoting exports of electronic hardware from India. The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) provides statutory services under the scheme through a single-window clearance system.
The scheme does not involve direct fund allocation. Instead, eligible EHTP units receive fiscal and operational benefits under the provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023.
These include duty-free import or procurement of capital goods, raw materials, components, consumables, spares and other permitted goods required for export production, subject to the Foreign Trade Policy.
EHTP units are also permitted to undertake sales in the Domestic Tariff Area in accordance with the provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy. They receive other operational and procedural benefits, including simplified customs procedures and single-window statutory clearances.
Karnataka continues to dominate the EHTP ecosystem, accounting for 34 units in FY 2025-26, up from 32 in FY 2024-25 and 29 in FY 2023-24. Its EHTP units recorded exports of ₹8,328.98 crore in FY 2025-26, although this was lower than ₹9,338.93 crore in the previous year.
Tamil Nadu had 14 EHTP units in FY 2025-26, with exports of ₹314.62 crore. Uttar Pradesh had seven units with exports of ₹900.41 crore, while Maharashtra had six units generating exports of ₹1,165.54 crore.
Haryana had four EHTP units with exports of ₹270.88 crore, while Telangana had two units with exports of ₹2.58 crore. Kerala also increased its EHTP units from one to two, although exports stood at ₹15.75 crore in FY 2025-26.
The state-wise data also shows EHTP units in Goa, Gujarat, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Delhi and West Bengal.
The government has been taking measures to make the EHTP framework more accessible and efficient for industry. STPI has automated statutory services through a digital platform, including approval and final intimation, with the objective of speeding up service delivery to EHTP units.
Import procedures have also been simplified. The earlier system of case-to-case import permissions has been replaced with blanket import permissions for the financial year concerned.
The government is also undertaking regular stakeholder consultations, awareness programmes, industry interactions and participation in trade events to promote the EHTP Scheme and encourage new investments.
The latest numbers underline the continuing concentration of India’s export-oriented electronics manufacturing activity in a handful of technology-intensive states, with Karnataka alone accounting for more than three-fourths of total EHTP exports in FY 2025-26.
The expansion of the EHTP base, combined with streamlined clearances and trade-policy incentives, is intended to support India’s broader effort to build domestic electronics manufacturing capacity and increase the country’s participation in global electronics supply chains.
