New Delhi: Justice Lisa Gill has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, becoming the first woman to hold the position in the history of the court.

Justice Gill is currently serving as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. She will assume charge as Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court with effect from April 25, 2026.

The appointment follows the retirement of Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, who is set to demit office on April 24, 2026.
