New Delhi, August 27: The Rajya Sabha Secretariat on Wednesday announced the final list of contesting candidates for the Vice-Presidential Election 2025, confirming that the race will be between Buchireddy Sudershan Reddy from Hyderabad and CP Radhakrishnan from Mumbai.
With the withdrawal of nominations closing on August 25, only two candidates remain in contention. Polling will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Room No. F-101, Vasudha, Parliament House, New Delhi. Voting will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by counting of votes from 6:00 p.m., with results expected the same evening.
Electoral College
The Electoral College for the Vice-Presidential election comprises members of both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including nominated members of the Upper House, who are entitled to participate in the election.
Polling arrangements are being overseen by PC Mody, Returning Officer for the Vice-Presidential Election 2025 and Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha.
