Telangana Launches Global AI Innovation Entity Aikam at Davos

Davos/Hyderabad: The Government of Telangana on Wednesday announced the launch of Aikam, a new global artificial intelligence innovation entity, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, positioning the initiative as a central platform for large-scale and responsible AI deployment.
The launch was chaired by Telangana chief minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with industries and IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and revenue and housing minister Pongule Srinivas Reddy.
According to the state government, Aikam has been institutionalised as an autonomous innovation entity to consolidate Telangana’s artificial intelligence initiatives under a unified global framework. The objective is to move beyond pilot projects and enable AI deployment at population scale, supported by large datasets, compute infrastructure, startup acceleration programmes and a dedicated fund-of-funds.
Speaking at the launch, Revanth Reddy said the state’s approach to AI is centred on execution rather than experimentation, adding that Telangana aims to invite global partners to anchor AI solutions in the state with an emphasis on transparency, governance and public trust.
Sridhar Babu said Aikam is designed to create a clear pathway from ideas to globally scalable AI solutions, while retaining public oversight through its anchoring within the state government Aikam Davos Press Release.
The announcement was accompanied by the signing of multiple memoranda of understanding with international partners across the AI value chain. These include collaborations focused on AI skilling, cross-border startup ecosystems, energy-efficient AI computing, applied research in healthcare and life sciences, and AI-driven design and immersive digital technologies Aikam Davos Press Release.
Among the partners are Pearson, DMCC, Blaize, AI CoLab, and Journey, according to the release.
A global leaders’ panel on “Responsible Autonomy: Guardrails for the Age of Agentic AI” was also held as part of the launch. The discussion focused on governance challenges associated with increasingly autonomous AI systems, including accountability, transparency and public trust. The forum also saw the release of the first edition of the Responsible AI Standard and Ethics (RAISE) Index, described as a measurable framework to assess and benchmark responsible AI practices across the lifecycle of AI systems Aikam Davos Press Release.
The Telangana government said Aikam would play a key role in supporting the state’s long-term economic ambitions and in strengthening its position in the global AI ecosystem as AI technologies move rapidly from experimentation to deployment at scale.
