New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) celebrated its 21st Annual Day at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in its journey as a key infrastructure arm of Indian Railways.

The event brought together senior leadership from the railway board and the organisation, highlighting RVNL’s execution capabilities, project milestones and future growth roadmap.

Satish Kumar, Chairman and CEO, Railway Board, said RVNL has emerged as a cornerstone of India’s rail infrastructure ecosystem, delivering projects that once appeared difficult within challenging timelines. He noted that the organisation has executed over 17,000 km of railway infrastructure with a cumulative project value exceeding ₹2 lakh crore, significantly strengthening connectivity and capacity across the country.

He highlighted landmark achievements such as the New Pamban Bridge, India’s first vertical-lift railway sea bridge, along with the organisation’s expanding footprint in metro projects, international markets and complex tunnelling works in the Himalayan region.

Vivek Kumar Gupta, Member (Infrastructure), Railway Board, said RVNL has evolved from a focused railway project entity into a diversified infrastructure organisation, expanding into multiple domains beyond conventional rail engineering.

Saleem Ahmad, CMD, RVNL, described the company’s journey as one of sustained transformation, highlighting its role as a central pillar in India’s capital expenditure push. He pointed to strong financial performance, consistent growth and diversification into sectors such as metro rail, renewable energy, digital infrastructure and international projects.

He also underscored the increasing focus on technology adoption, including the use of AI and digital tools for project monitoring, along with sustainability initiatives and global expansion strategies.

A major highlight of the event was the awards ceremony, where RVNL recognised excellence across its project implementation units, departments and teams. The organisation conferred five shield awards, 14 group awards and 24 individual awards for achievements across rail, metro, tunnelling and strategic infrastructure segments.

Over the past year, RVNL has delivered key infrastructure projects, including the New Pamban Bridge, and made progress on strategic initiatives such as the Rishikesh–Karna Prayag rail link, metro corridors in multiple cities and international assignments.

Officials said the company remains focused on accelerating infrastructure delivery, enhancing execution capabilities and supporting India’s long-term transport and logistics vision as it enters its next phase of growth.

The event concluded with a cultural programme featuring a performance by playback singer Monali Thakur, adding a celebratory note to the occasion.
