Hyderabad: Re Sustainability and Janyu Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance safety, efficiency and intelligence in waste management operations across India.

The collaboration brings together Re Sustainability’s three decades of experience in integrated waste management and environmental infrastructure with Janyu Technologies’ deep-tech, robotics-led solutions, aimed at addressing high-risk and regulated waste management challenges through automation and advanced technology, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Addressing a rapidly evolving sector

India’s waste management sector, estimated to be valued at over USD 20 billion, is expanding rapidly amid tighter regulatory frameworks, rising compliance requirements and increasing ESG mandates. The partnership seeks to accelerate the adoption of automation-led solutions to improve safety, operational consistency and traceability across hazardous, biomedical and industrial waste streams.

By combining Re Sustainability’s nationwide footprint, regulatory expertise and execution capabilities with Janyu Technologies’ remotely operated robotic systems, the collaboration will focus on safer and more efficient operations in areas such as sludge removal, hazardous waste handling, confined-space cleaning and other high-risk environmental and industrial activities.

The solutions are designed to operate in hazardous and constrained environments, significantly reducing human exposure while improving throughput, operational efficiency and data-driven monitoring.

Leadership perspectives

Commenting on the partnership, Masood Mallick, Managing Director and Group CEO of Re Sustainability, said the collaboration reflects the company’s focus on safety and operational excellence.

“Safety, compliance, and operational excellence are fundamental to how Re Sustainability builds and operates environmental infrastructure. This partnership with Janyu Technologies represents a significant step toward integrating advanced robotics into high-risk waste management operations, helping reduce human exposure while improving efficiency, consistency, and traceability,” Mallick said.

He added that technology-led collaborations will be critical as India’s waste management ecosystem continues to evolve.

Abhimanyu Raja, managing director of Janyu Technologies, said the partnership aligns industrial growth with worker safety and dignity of labour.

“At Janyu Technologies, we develop indigenous, human-enabling robotic systems for hazardous tasks such as sludge handling, confined space cleaning and regulated waste management, so workers can move from unsafe exposure to safer, higher-skill roles,” Raja said.

He noted that the company’s robotic equipment also generates operational data that supports AI-driven insights and predictive analytics, enabling productivity-focused and future-ready waste management and maintenance solutions.

Building next-generation environmental infrastructure

Together, Re Sustainability and Janyu Technologies aim to establish scalable, safety-first and cost-efficient waste management models aligned with India’s sustainability and circular economy objectives. The partnership is expected to support safer workplaces, stronger regulatory compliance and long-term environmental impact through the integration of indigenous technology and operational scale.
