Ahmedabad, August 15: The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) concluded a four-day training programme on “Digital Transformation of the Organization & Economy” at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Held from August 11–14, the initiative brought together 27 officers from Central ministries and State/UT administrations, including Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Inaugurating the programme, NeGD COO & Director Rajnish Kumar highlighted India’s leadership in digital public infrastructure — spanning identity, payments, and data exchange — and stressed the importance of citizen-centric service delivery. He urged the creation of case studies, policy frameworks, and impact assessments to guide future digital transformation strategies.

The training equipped participants with insights into the digital economy and the governance potential of emerging technologies, including Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Artificial Intelligence. Modules covered responsible digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, inclusive service delivery, and the strategic application of technology in sectors such as health and governance.

Part of the Digital India capacity-building scheme, the programme aims to strengthen the ability of government officials at all levels to conceptualize, design, and implement e-Governance projects. It combined lectures, case studies, and hands-on activities to encourage innovative thinking and practical solutions, reflecting MeitY’s goal of building robust skills for the country’s ongoing digital transformation.
