NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting tableau titled Bharat Gatha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti rolls past Kartavya Path during the Republic Day Parade on Monday, depicting India’s storytelling journey from ancient oral traditions to modern cinema and digital media, with a focus on the WAVES vision for global media leadership.
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting presented a tableau titled Bharat Gatha: Shruti, Kriti, Drishti at the Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path, showcasing India’s storytelling legacy from ancient oral traditions to contemporary media and cinema.
The tableau depicted the evolution of narrative forms across centuries, highlighting how civilisational knowledge systems, literature, performing arts, film and digital media together shaped India’s cultural continuum. It underscored the country’s transition into a global content powerhouse, reflecting both creative depth and technological progress.
A key focus was WAVES, projected as a global platform aimed at strengthening India’s leadership in media and entertainment through innovation and cultural diplomacy. The presentation blended heritage motifs with modern visual technology to bring alive traditions while pointing to future-ready narratives.
Displayed during the 77th Republic Day celebrations, the MIB tableau positioned storytelling as a strategic soft-power asset, aligning culture, creativity and technology in India’s media vision.
